Here, food feels like a shared language, bridging stories and smiles. The cheese roll, with its delicate layers and unmistakable warmth, embodies that feeling of classic comfort done right. At Porto’s, every bite and every shared moment captures a subtle but reassuring joy—a calm nook of connection and flavor amidst the everyday rush. It’s the sort of place you find yourself returning to, not just for the food, but for the warmth that feels as freshly prepared as the pastries themselves.

Porto’s Bakery & Cafe never disappoints. This was my first visit to the Buena Park location. It was easy to find and just off of the 91 freeway and Beach Blvd. I stopped by here with my cousin who was visiting California because it’s a must stop for anyone visiting SoCal. Finding the place was easy using Google Maps. The parking lot is huge so we quickly found a spot and walked over toward the building. Like the Downey Porto’s location, they have a line for cakes on one side, drinks on another, and bakery in the middle. We made our way toward the bakery items to pick out some pastries, like the Cheese Rolls, Refugiado (Guava & Cheese Strudel), Dulce de Leche Besitos, Potato Balls (regular and cheese & peppers), Parisian cake slices, Marquita’s (Plantain Chips), etc. My cousin loved every single pastry and cake, as well as the potato balls. The ambiance can be loud but I love the energy here and the service is always great. We were impressed with how the employees work efficiently here, like a machine. It looks chaotic but they actually have it down to science. And I’ve seen this at the Downey and Glendale locations, as well. Overall, they have delicious sweet and savory treats for any palate. I love that they are also affordable and the packaging looks great. These make great hostess gifts. And these made a lasting impression for my cousin.

114/10 My first time at this spot(Buena Park), we ordered cheese rolls, guava pie and Cubano (Cuban Sandwich). The Cubano comes with plantain chips, crispy! I really like the Cubano, the meat is flavorful and the portion is big, can share with two people. The guava pie is just sweet, not my jam. The cheese rolls are my all time favorite, classical comfort food! We also bump into a Labubu meet up group haha, they are so cute!!

Worth the wait! Went on a Saturday morning and had to try what Porto’s is about. Absolutely worth the wait and the parking battles during the busy Saturday. Once I took a bite of the cheese roll all my worries melted away haha. I ordered a whole bunch of pastries knowing I won’t be back for a while and will be freezing the rest. The pastries are reasonably price and all are delicious, some of the pastries didn’t make it back to the hotel. I see why people are flipping these pastries on the street!

Parking is horrendous but be patient because their turnover is pretty quick. There is an attendant on the first row to assist people crossing The moment you walk in, you are greeted with 2 lines. Both can fulfill your dine in and/or take out order. Really efficient and personalized service, you talk to one person when you place an order and when you pay, that same person ensures it is correctly charged

Went back to see and ordered Christmas cakes for the holiday gardening w/ family, friend & my close family. Still a place to go for good bakery, cake, cafe & coffee. Parking is big and private, there are staff everywhere guiding you to where to go, weather for cake order/pickup, bakery for baked goods, cafe for snacks and foods, coffee for varies coffee choices. The prices are still unbeatable, especially at the current economic & holidays time. Services at each section or anywhere are great, warm & friendly. The place is vey clean, airy and bright from outside. There are several seating sections for dine in or just rest after checking out the baked goods (it’s alot and can be overwhelming), they do have patio seating too. Came in for couple items that to get but walked about with 4 bags of goodies. Glad most of the goods are bite sizes. Will see you soon for cake pick up. Workout time.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Porto’s Bakery – Buena Park, CA Porto’s Bakery in Buena Park is truly one of my favorite places to visit whenever I’m in Southern California! From the moment you walk in, the aroma of freshly baked pastries and coffee instantly makes you smile. The display cases are filled with irresistible treats—my personal favorites are the guava pastries, cheese rolls, and of course, the famous potato balls. Everything tastes fresh, flavorful, and made with love. Even though Porto’s is incredibly popular and always busy, the customer service is exceptional. The staff is friendly, efficient, and there are always plenty of them to keep things moving quickly. The line might look long, but it moves fast thanks to how well organized everything is. The establishment is spotless, from the counters to the cafe area, and it’s such a comfortable place to sit and enjoy your coffee and pastries. Speaking of coffee—theirs is delicious and pairs perfectly with any of their baked goods. Parking can get a little crowded, especially on weekends, but it’s worth it every time. Porto’s is a true Southern California staple—a must-visit for anyone who loves great food, great service, and an all-around delightful experience!

We can't leave California without visiting PORTO'S - IYKYK!!! The guaranteed long lines, no matter when you go confirms how incredibly good this bakery is! Prices are very reasonable and bakery items are heavenly made. It really is that good! We got the coffee cake this time as well as their signature guava pastries and everything else on the menu, lol. This is a 10000% cheat day that's well worth it! Ordered a vanilla chai Latte which was perfect. They have an efficient system to take your order. Plenty of seating and staff is sweet! Which we had this on the east coast.

I really love Porto’s Bakery and Cafe. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and affordable. Their pastries are famous for a reason — the cheese rolls and potato balls are always warm, crispy, and full of flavor. The cakes are beautifully made and not overly sweet, perfect for birthdays or family gatherings. Even though it’s often very busy, the service is efficient and well organized. The staff works fast, and the quality never drops. Porto’s has a welcoming atmosphere that feels both lively and comforting, making it a great place for families and friends. It’s one of those places I can visit again and again and never get tired of. Definitely a must-visit in Southern California.
